I log in to the web site, but it acts as if I'm not logged in; why?

You probably need to enable cookies in your web browser. Other things to check are that any proxy/filter software running isn't preventing access, and to try clearing your browser's cache. It's usually the cookie thing though!

If you really hate cookies for whatever reason, you could try a (freeware) program such as AnalogX's CookieWall (see the software/network section), or The Proxomitron, both of which can limit which sites are allowed to store cookies on your system.
